At first I brought Bas back and forward to Agat together with Luna (Tom takes Ekko because his school is right by the university). But it was too much driving for Luna. For Bas it was about the same he was used too before, but me and Luna were exhausted. So we tried the school bus. We had to pick him up half way, but it made difference. I didn’t need to put Luna in the car sleeping (because school ends at 2.45 PM) and Bas loved going with the bus. Only it was the last bus stop so he was home later. He didn’t take the bus long because Ska ended up going to school with Bas so now we carpool. I bring the boys and Malo gets them back so he is home at 3.30 PM the latest. For a moment we had to find some compromises within the family. Bas that really wanted this school and Luna that ddidn’t want to be in that car that long. But look it all sorted out himself and Bas is an experience richer.
Eerst bracht en haalde ik Bas in Agat samen met Luna (Tom neemt Ekko mee, omdat zijn school vlak bij de unief is). Maar het was te veel rijden voor Luna. Voor Bas was het ongeveer hetzelfde als voordien (en ja, hij hoeft het niet dubbel te doen zoals zijn zus), maar voor Luna en ik was het te vermoeiend. Zodus probeerden we de schoolbus. We moisten hem halfweg gaan halen, maar het maakte een groot verschil. Ik moest Luna niet meer slapend in de auto zetten om Bas te gaan halen (omdat de school eindigd om 14.45, en wij moeten dan midden in haar middagdutje vertrekken). Bas vond met de bus rijden geweldig. Alleen was hij een uur later thuis dan gewoonlijk. Hij nam de bus niet lang want Ska gaat nu ook naar school bij Bas, dus carpoolen we nu. Ik breng de jongens en Malo gaat ze halen, dus is hij ten allerlaaste 15.30 thuis. Het was even zoeken naar compromissen binnen het gezin, Bas die heel graag naar die school wil en Luna die niet al te lang in de auto wil zitten. Maar kijk het heft zichzelf opgelost en Bas is een ervaring rijker.
